Ahmad did it again, told Chinese not be American Jews
Sep 8, 08 8:52pm

Penang Umno leader Ahmad Ismail, the man at the centre of the ‘racial slur’ controversy, warned Chinese Malaysians not to mimic American Jews who not only seek to control the country’s economy but also its political power.

In an explosive 50-minute press conference, Ahmad who claimed time and again that he was not a racist, vowed that he would not apologise for his remarks which sparked the controversy.

“While it is not difficult to say sorry – for the sake of my Malay dignity, I resolve not to apologise no matter what others may say. I am willing to take the risk (for not doing so),” he said in a 14-page statement.

The press conference, which was held at the Penang Umno headquarters this afternoon, ended with shouts of ‘Hidup Melayu’ from about 50 local party leaders who were there.

Soon after the event, former Penang Umno committee member Zainol Abidin Hashim, with the help from his colleagues pulled down the photo of Gerakan acting president Dr Koh Tsu Koon which adorned one of the walls in the party headquarters.

Koh’s picture frame, which sat next to the photos of the Penang governor and his wife, was subsequently smashed.

As the glass broke into pieces, Zainol removed Koh’s photo from the frame and tore it into half.
Koh, who is former Penang chief minister, has been trading barbs with Ahmad, the Bukit Bendera Umno division chief, over the issue.
In a hastily-organised press conference at 10.30pm, Koh announced that Penang Gerakan had decided to cut all ties with its counterpart effective immediately.
Ahmad: Take this as a warning

Earlier, Ahmad told the minority Chinese not to go overboard in hurting the feelings of the Malays and Muslims.

“I want them to know, I want them to take this as a warning from the Malays. Malays and Muslims have been provoked many times. We have been patient because we want to maintain stability in the country,” he said.

“Remember! The patience of Malays and Muslims has its limits. Do not push us to the wall, where we will be forced to reject the Chinese for the sake of our survival.

“If what I say sounds too strong for BN, take this as a warning from the Malays and Muslims as this has nothing to do with Umno. Do not pressure Umno leaders until they are caught in a dilemma.”

He then sounded a dire warning to Koh and Gerakan.

“I want Koh Tsu Koon and Gerakan to take responsibility for whatever untoward incidents that could happen in this country of ours.”

Ahmad also called upon BN leaders to “kick Gerakan out” from the ruling coalition.

‘PM asked me to hold this PC’

The Bukit Bendera Umno chief said that he was asked by Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi to hold “another press conference”.

Ahmad previously held a press conference last Friday in which he reiterated that he would not apologise for his remarks.

Abdullah (photo, right), who had earlier told the powerful local Umno leader to do so, was silent on the issue the next day when he met with Penang Umno leaders, including Ahmad.

Ahmad, who was backed by all 13 Umno divisions in Penang – Abdullah’s home state – thanked the prime minister for his “understanding”.

The controversy erupted after Ahmad had allegedly said that the “Chinese were immigrants squatting in this country” at a ceramah during the recent Permatang Pauh by-election campaign.

The speech caused Ahmad to come under heavy fire from Chinese-based political parties, particularly from Umno’s allies MCA and Gerakan over the past two weeks. A spate of police reports were also lodged against the Umno division leader.

Ahmad nevertheless argued that his remark was taken out of context by Chinese-language Sin Chew Daily as he was referring to historical events.

PM, DPM to meet Ahmad
At the press conference, Ahmad also urged the different states to hold a gathering of the whole ummah (Muslim community).

“Let us not let it go to waste as the flames of anger among Malays and Muslims has reached new heights. Let us take embrace this anger and come together as Malays and Muslims throughout the land so that we can turn the voices of the Malays into one that will unite all Malays and Muslims into one single movement.”

In an immediate reaction, both Abdullah and Deputy Prime Minister Najib Razak are expected to meet Ahmad tomorrow. It is believed that action could be taken against the Umno leader.

Sometimes there are cases like this that was never reported in the Malaysian news to stop people to talk amongst themselves, rather it be in the office, shops, or anywhere else that matters. This news that is most likely spread to a lot of people already would most likely talk about issue in Malaysian Political History. I have been around, listening to people talk, what is our political leaders doing about this issue? None, i tell you none. What did our high Malaysian Leaders do? They sentence Penang Umno Lead Ahmad Ismail to a 3year suspension? I mean… WTF is going on? If this was a chinese umno leader speaking about Chinese equal rights or the rights to voice out, he or she would most likely be jailed for being a racist, and knowing Malaysian Government Police, usually they dont waste time in doing so, with a snap of a finger they will be at this persons house and arrest him/her.

Other countries must be laughing at Malaysia now listening to this squable of an old politician who believes Malays must have the rights? How bout the Indians? The Dayaks? The Lain-Lain, why i say lain-lain, it’s because Malaysia is a huge country and i have been going around a lot in my travels to meet a lot of other races, Malays are not the only one having “RIGHTS”, what’s up with that? Where is the EQUALITY we Malaysian’s are striving for? We were once a nation that everyone, that every country ENVY because we are “BERSATU-PADU SATU MALAYSIA”, and what i see Ahmad Ismail is trying to do is stirring a hornets nest among the Malaysian people. Sure, Malaysia stands for Malay if cut short term, but without the chinese community and all the economy it have bring to this backwater country, there will not be any rich Malays around without the Chinese giving them business, you need them, and they need you, it’s as simple as that.

What i do not understand is, the more Ahmad Ismail do this, the more the chinese people are looking the other way, i think they must be looking at Anwar Ibrahim’s way right about now even. Like i heard a group of malay people talking in the coffee shop, if Tun Mahathir Mohammad was still in power, this Ahmad would surely be sack or would be in deep shit if our once great leader is in power, many would argue that he is not a great leader, but to me, Mahathir Mohammad is a great leader, a man of status that change Malaysia and put it on the map in the first place. Pity, i love reading his blog, i wonder what is he going to say about this Penang Umno leader, let me repeat that, PENANG UMNO LEADER of all people, he should lead a good example, not bring a group of rowdy people and start a ruckus like some high school gangster or a bully, what he is doing surely is not professional, like am quoting the words of Anwar Ibrahim, “A low class politician.” as was written in the Sun Newspaper. Heck, am wondering now, who else is blogging about Ahmad right about now.

The thing i do not want to happen is, the case of the Madura Massacre a long time back, sure, we will be seeing people killing each other, but only the uncivilised will do so, i have known to many good Malays that are so open minded even they think Malaysia is not a good country to live in. When are we going to get a capable leader? What Pak LAh should do is kick the shit out of Ahmad for not apologising because, “It was mis-interpret by Sin Chew daily”, when it is soooooooo obvious he is an egotistical megalomaniac that wants to look for trouble saying the Malay people is behind him. Sure, he got 50, but not many want to look for trouble. Maybe he should sing a song titled “Oppss, i did it again.” By Ahmad Ismail, that would be hilarious joke ever. Just apologise already, all you need to do is open your mouth and say, “I am Sorry” “Saya minta maaf ke atas perbuatan saya.” or lean a little bit of mandarin to take their hearts and say, “Dui bu qi”. Maybe he won’t apologise, heck, everyime i look in the newspaper it’s his really angry gangster face that crops up, sometimes i wonder how did he end up being a politician anyway? Money? Marry someones daughter? Or was he a good capable leader a longtime ago where everyone actually “DO” Love him.

Anyhow, am just unhappy that he is doing so, trying to be a hero or the next Hitler, and i wonder why is Najib and Pak Lah not doing anything serious about it and “suspend” for 3 fucking years?Put a cork in it will yah, when are we going to have leaders with “Balls of Steel” like Mahathir was, if Anwar is this leader, he get’s my vote.
