Visit Penang Year 2010 – Chapter 2: Batu Ferringhi

Continued from Chapter 1 – We moved on to Batu Ferringhi after a short shop around at Gurney Plaza, to catch the sunset. Located at the Northern Coast of Penang, this beach was hit by 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. But still, it is still a very happening beach in Malaysia, especially with the opening of Hard Rock Hotel here.

The lobby lounge is just next to the pool

Beattles next to the all day dining restaurant

Too bad we could not stay in Penang and didn’t have the blessing to do a destination wedding here, else we will sure go for rock style

View from the poolside

One of the main features in HRP is the 12-room at ground floor, which you can jump into the pool once open the balcony. This is the room that we are targeting during our next visit to HRP. Anyway, no children are allowed in these rooms.

This is really a the poolside bar

Guess whose foot steps were that

A girl was caught camwhoring at the balcony of her room

Plenty of activities can be found here, for instance, parasailing that I will never dare to try. So I can only became the camera man for the ladies. This is not the first time my FW went for this kind of activity, but she still scream very loud for the sake of making fun. Oppositely, Jo’s first trial wasn’t so perfect as one of her earings fell down into the ocean.

A full video clip of their flying experience. The wind was too strong when they landed till my FW couldn’t even stand properly.

Jetski is another exciting activity that I used to love many years ago

For something less adventerous, then horse riding is a good choice.

Having a drink at the beach side while waiting for the sunset

Some very cheap guest house can also be found at Batu Ferringhi

Ninja Rider was here too, together with her son and i was surprised to see her riding this ATV very fast on the sand going back and fourth making sharp turns. Do not underestimate the NINJA RAIDA.

High school musical 4 was filmed in Penang, but due to cost and the producers unwilling to pay for Herb Afro, the cousin to Zack Afron, he had to do the jumping pose alone and also at the same time, advertising Terry Fox Research for Cancer t-shirt.

Random shot at the beach

The sunset was not so great compared to in Phuket

Checking out the Rock Shop which has very little of choices, quality also so-so only. FW’s gf bought one t-shirt here last month, it shrunk by one size after washing it.

There are 3 Rock Shop in HRP, one in the hotel, second one in the cafe and the third one is standing alone next to the hotel.

It’s ok if you don’t want to buy your special one a souvenir from Rock Shop, you can always consider to buy him / her  a dinner at the Rock Cafe

Welcome back my friends, the show that never ends…

Bye Hard Rock, I will be back soon…
