Sekinchan, is a name of a small town which sounds so strange to me until last Saturday, i thought at first it had something to do with Crayon Shin-Chan. It’s a very last minute plan while none of us know the actual direction. No map, no GPS. All I was told by the two ladies is follow the signages to Sungai Buloh, then Kuala Selangor and Sekinchan.
After about 1 ½ hours, we’ve reached this piece of land for our first time. To me it feels like driving to my farm in Sarawak because of the small road and all the small shop houses plus the farmland.
Located at Selangor, Sekinchan is a home of paddy field and fishing village. The ladies were so excited at first as they thought can catch a glimpse of greenery paddy field. Unfortunately, now is just past the harvest season. I told them if they want to see real paddy field may as well go back to my hometown, shock i was that these city slickers never seen such things.
Remind us of our childhood, mostly me because i grew up in a farm and being taught to live off the land.
We drove further in and finally there are some greens, and because this two girls wanted to see it i stop, but to me it is just another field, i will be more excited if i was in another country.
Me being me, always curious but will curiosity kill a cat? It depends. I drove into a small road which passed by a palm oil plantation and here we discovered the ocean.
The trip would be incomplete if we didn’t stop by at the fishing village. We were lucky in the sense that the boat just returned from the ocean. According to the boss, the boat only come back once every six days. We also bought some fresh seafood ie giant prawns, crabs and squid, total damage is RM37 only. Seriously cheap, fresh yet unbelievable.
We had lunch at a local seafood restaurant which is endorsed by A-Xian of Astro AEC. Mind you, this place may looks old and run down, especially the washroom but it’s one of the best seafood restaurants in Sekinchan.

I am not a big fan of seafood but I am now craving for it when looking at the photos. Again, pricing wise is very reasonable, all for RM45 only.
By the way, we also bought some keropok, one of the must get snacks from any fishing village.
Other specialties here include mangoes, rose apple and sweet corns that you can easily see stalls selling it at the road side.
Overall, it was a fruitful weekend getaway for three of us and we will sure be back again soon, just for more seafood and paddy field, of course.
